What is a Puppy Surcharge?

The majority of Mad Paws bookings are for dogs, to cater to this we allow our Sitters to implement a puppy surcharge to ensure their pricing reflects the level of care required. Mad Paws considers any dog under 6 months old a puppy.

While puppies are adorable, they require much more attention. The support and care they needed will depend on their age and training; the younger they are the more likely their needs will increase. Due to this, a pet sitter may choose to charge a flat rate Puppy Surcharge if you’re booking your puppies in to cater to their toilet training status, puppy behaviour and the extra attention required.

What if we need to remove a Puppy Surcharge from an Approved booking?

If your booking is still on Approved status, your Pet Sitter can make adjustments to your final price to remove the Puppy Surcharge. Simply reach out to them and request for these changes to be done from their end. Once finalized, the adjusted price will appear on the summary of your booking before you complete the payment for it.

What if I want to remove a Puppy Surcharge from a Paid booking?

Adjusting the Service Total’s amount of your bookings is only available up until it’s on Approved status. This means that prices are finalized once a booking has been paid for. However, if you and your Pet Sitter had agreed to adjust the prices after payment is made, feel free to reach out to our Customer Success team for assistance.

When will the Puppy Surcharge be charged to a booking?

This will appear on bookings when a puppy is added to a booking. Mad Paws considers a puppy to be aged between 0 to 6 months old.
