# Do I need to get a permit to become a Pet Sitter?

As a Pet Sitter and Dog Walker at Mad Paws, you will need to make sure that you are in compliance with all relevant laws. This includes any **federal, state, and local council laws** relating to the boarding of animals and the keeping of animals at your own property and under your control.
